The Friends of Killbear Park are undertaking a new project to improve accessibility access to Twin Points.

Some excellent work has been done by the Park, widening and smoothing out the trail from the parking lot to the existing boardwalk, for easier access to the existing boardwalk.

Our project will expand on that work by replacing the existing boardwalk with a composite material and with a width that would allow two wheelchairs to bypass each other.

The boardwalk will take you up to an accessible viewing platform on the first point of the Twin Points Trail.

Friends of Killbear have reached their initial fundraising goal of $200,000 for this project, and we are still accepting donations. Ontario Parks has taken over management of the project, and the start date is to be determined.

Please consider making a financial gift to support this project.

Donations can be made at the Nature Shoppe or, if you prefer, you can donate online here.

With different levels of donations, your name will be included on a plaque mounted on stone at the entrance to the trail. A minimum donation of $250 is required for an individual or family, minimum of $1,000 for a business to have your donation recognized on the plaque. Donations of less than $250 will be recognized on the wall in Carol’s Place.
